What are the Pros and Cons of Centralization??
In my previous leadership roles, I have centralized, decentralized and used hybrids. It was not too long ago that all human resource duties were handled at corporate - then automation and decentralization took on many of the recruiting processes. Another example is accounts payable and receivables which now has commonly moved to automation or outsourcing.
One thing for sure is that everything changes over time.
Let's look at some of the conditions that support centralization and conversely why centralization may not be for your company wide portfolio, but some regions might be prime for centralization.
